Hohepa was formed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining home schools throughout New Zealand for the curative education and social therapy of children, young persons, and adults with intellectual disabilities. With community initiatives, which involve the residents in daily vocational programmes, ranging from craft skills for weaving, felt making, woodwork, candlemaking, farming and gardening. Products from the farm and craft studios are then sold online and shops nationally.
